Evaluation Q6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Previous to creating our thriller, I had never used a DSLR camera, a boom mic/pole, a voice recorder, a tripod or premier pro/after effects. Therefore, I have gained many different skills and how to use all the different equipment and editing software’s. We decided to use the DSLR camera as it offers exceptional resolution and is very easy to transport/use, especially when we need to take the equipment to different locations. We also found that it was extremely easy to transfer footage from the DLSR onto the computers, which helped us in terms of time management as it saved us a lot of time. Throughout the production of our thriller, myself and my other group member spent a lot of time in our media room frequently making amendments and testing out different effects. I spent most of my time learning how to make titles and I used after effects and premier pro in order to create some titling for our product, which I am very proud of. We also used after effects to edit our lighting, some shots were too light so we used the software to darken the footage and make it look scarier/eerie. I think that premier pro was the best and simplest technology for us to use when editing our footage and sequencing our film. It was easy to access all the effects and to edit the footage together. Premier pro and after effects also enabled us to cut/crop any unwanted frames which allowed our sequence to flow smoothly just like a real film opening. Furthermore, premier pro allowed us to edit our soundtrack by enabling us to fade/increase the tempo in order to create the perfect track for our thriller. As I have never used premier pro, I was anxious that it would take me a long time to pick up and understand but it didn't, which assisted in speeding up the whole process of creating our film.

Evaluation Q4 - Who would be the audience for your media product?
We have a broad target audience for our thriller opening, appealing to both genders. Specifically, the romance and suspense within our thriller appeals more towards the female audience, while the crime to the male. When it comes to age, our ideal audience would be around 15 to 30 years old, as both our actors are young our thriller would therefore appeal to the younger audience, however the plot would appeal to the 20 year olds and above. This is because our thriller revolves around relationship issues as well as the psychological aspect, it might appeal more to couples as they can relate to the storyline to a certain extent. However, the psychological aspects of the thriller, allows the boundary to expand even further than just 15-30 year olds. It could appeal to just about anyone who likes to have to think things through, work things out for themselves and be left with lots of unanswered questions.

Risk Assessment Form
Our group had to complete a risk assessment form in order to identify hazards that could occur when shooting our film. It is extremely beneficial to us to know what potential risks there could be, so that we can try to prevent them and keep ourselves and our actors safe.
Filming Schedule
This is our groups schedule for planning out filming hours in January 2015. The day's highlighted in yellow are the days we have booked out the equipment (mentioned in my previous post) to film our thriller opening.

Completed Storyboard For Thriller
This is our storyboard for our thriller "The Black Widow". We will use our storyboard to plan our camera shots, mise en scene etc. We don't have to stick to our storyboard but we can use it as a helpful guide.
